Travelers' Rest Raptors and Art
Our favorite State Park, just down the road in Lolo and Art Day. Sponsored by Open AIR non-profit, Bev Glueckert and I had the whole afternoon with 20 artists. This time everyone participated in drawing, painting and making monoprints with Bev on her printing press. Sibley, Simon and Little Billie were the true stars! That's Simon posing in the background, participants inking plates.

What a Find
I just came across this rolled up mass of ancient newsprint tied with a leather boot lace. Lo and behold, a hundred nudes I sketched in Drawing Class at the University of Montana, 1978. Here are a few in a quick snapshot, and about 40 will be used to start fires in the wood stove this fall. More on the way, and that was a FUN class I remember, some of the guy students blushing at times.

Flowers
We had an unusual delivery first thing Sunday morning; eight roosters, nice donation and beautiful flowers that now grace the kitchen and family room windows. David and Amelia Amish of Hamilton made these same gifts about ten years ago, and chickens are a major part of the raptor diet around here. And the flowers are gladiolus, blooming like crazy.

Calendars!
Thanks to our pals, Minuteman Press in Missoula, Raptors of the Rockies 2025 Calendars! You may pick them up at Rockin Rudy's or let us know - $25 with postage. Or have a pile in my car! Photos from here in the neighborhood and one from Washington, a Snowy Owl.

Next!
Starting a new etching today, a Spotted Sandpiper, not this bird but some composite. Water, rocks, reflection, experiment. Always love seeing these guys at the river, and some days all shorebird photos and no eagles (or Ospreys.)

Sunrise
This looked really cool a minute before with the sun just behind the contrail, and ran to get my camera. Could be an asteroid or comet!

Old 2011 Blog
One of the idiots out there. My favorite is someone called the MT Fish, Wildlife and Parks front desk to ask that they move the "Game Crossing" warning sign on her street. "I am just tired of all these deer in my yard. Move it somewhere else."
