Our Vets

Special thanks this year to our veterinarians, Dr. Melinda Robin and Janna Lukomski here in front of Willow Mountain Veterinary Clinic in Hamilton, pre-snow. We have enjoyed their medical services for 16 years and Dr. Lynn has retired, mostly, working one day a week. Unfortunately we required her services several times this year with bird emergencies, and luckily she's "on call" day and night with advice. Here she shows off our calendar, Janna and Tom on the right. Plus Sonora the Aplomado Falcon's new hang-out in the office, birdwatching outside.

Radio Day

Live, on the radio, take a cruise on the Pea Green Boat with host Annie Garde and avian guests Sibley the Peregrine and iPod the Northern Pygmy-Owl. We are joined by two junior guests and even my sister Betsy! From 4 - 5 pm MST on the left of the FM dial (89.1 in Missoula) and heard 'round the world streaming at mtpr.org.

Colleen Tells Her Tale

We just had an evening gig for the Bitterroot Cross Country Ski Club/Bitterroot Audubon in Hamilton, packed crowd. Right after my PowerPoint, Colleen Powell spun the yarn about picking up our new Red-tail Simone on East Side Highway back in June. The main problem was the hawk nailed her in the hand and had to be extracted in the emergency room in Hamilton an hour later! The 87-year-old Colleen made a grab for her legs, so I pretended that we were going to re-enact the event right then and there when I got Simone out of her kennel. Colleen didn't go for that idea. A fun program and almost finished for the year, one more on Thursday on Montana Public Radio from 4-5 pm. Plus our frosty front yard.
