Anyway, this is the earliest start by one day, so add 35 days for hatching, then three months and<i> voila</i>! Fledging on the 4th of July, usually. This photo is ten years ago in April 2014, the only year that they had one chick. However they did skip breeding for three years from 2018-2020. I watch them through a scope in the living room mornings, then on the beach afternoons. My therapy, and 10 months today since the disastrous knee surgery, the pain keeping me awake at night. Bummer.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjxJGl3BkqeKUxQustMC2eClHLzO-FaAuxP6mx8tOUaWQBeKgOg7dd_zh4TmgwoSEo1FyFXgx9umclu_8bKnHBC-A6nsa8rlRfa9wBp2aP5Zfkozv6XVOTMngOuH4EEJriQBh7bifgCB9AsTuW-qRz1De4PLAgHf2jQ-qRULb4Lltaa6kA0_2LO_3bCmOI/s800/BAEAbaby%20copy.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="567" data-original-width="800" height="227" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjxJGl3BkqeKUxQustMC2eClHLzO-FaAuxP6mx8tOUaWQBeKgOg7dd_zh4TmgwoSEo1FyFXgx9umclu_8bKnHBC-A6nsa8rlRfa9wBp2aP5Zfkozv6XVOTMngOuH4EEJriQBh7bifgCB9AsTuW-qRz1De4PLAgHf2jQ-qRULb4Lltaa6kA0_2LO_3bCmOI/s320/BAEAbaby%20copy.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><br /><p></p>Kate Davishttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11225593017412181222noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4706115897223424739.post-30257782884236997892024-03-03T10:57:00.003-07:002024-03-03T10:57:29.323-07:00Eagle Time<p>Our view from the yard and that's the nest just above my name. Painting some etchings then heading down with the dogs, and camera of course. I missed a couple great shots this winter when I opted to just bring the "little" camera. One when "batteries exhausted." Hence the fast scratching through the paint on the Claybord to make a Porcupine. I tried colored pencils, photo coloring pencils, every kind of pastel, oil paint, acrylic, and every magic marker in the house, plus plain old Crayola crayons to color the thing. Nope. So this </span>will be my image to try on scratchboard next. </p><div style="font-family: Helvetica; font-size: 12px;"><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhwyUXPOtzLpuL7KVjA2Kgo2dEAojSRKTtGPDXDjUlYOtafLknoBOBYxGcAAPYxK7uZ9KT_ymLVMhHMhRZmqMtVLDfxAI75yzgB4qwEawpRfbuXYKG_KRvhP8tSybyR32uZs1hNccxV5IkHnfSxyKLjatCXbqQZzouBKpmcRnByZM0WL1rCkGqiE9EGCt4/s800/PPclaybordFinal%20copy.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="800" data-original-width="630" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhwyUXPOtzLpuL7KVjA2Kgo2dEAojSRKTtGPDXDjUlYOtafLknoBOBYxGcAAPYxK7uZ9KT_ymLVMhHMhRZmqMtVLDfxAI75yzgB4qwEawpRfbuXYKG_KRvhP8tSybyR32uZs1hNccxV5IkHnfSxyKLjatCXbqQZzouBKpmcRnByZM0WL1rCkGqiE9EGCt4/s320/PPclaybordFinal%20copy.jpg" width="252" /></a></div></div>Kate Davishttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11225593017412181222noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4706115897223424739.post-23272348603591713452024-02-28T09:13:00.004-07:002024-02-28T09:13:58.669-07:00Eagle Neighbor<p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhe8fOy2gsmvvyNlEbsXQu4j1yyZ5AZFY-f77zSGM8g9csTEF1tlF5osSdrbf7RBRf9jj6EKLL1ailDy1MkPQ7ZBVqX514a33NHdGJTM6ZE5om9VZ7V5M7H8bN4LLF4TBViSTvtMqwRCPRYao1i_xWJ8OVKC_fU1Zfs3hpNnIMhxvLXO09eGYIytNTkLok/s800/BAEA-Feb27%20copy.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="657" data-original-width="800" height="263" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhe8fOy2gsmvvyNlEbsXQu4j1yyZ5AZFY-f77zSGM8g9csTEF1tlF5osSdrbf7RBRf9jj6EKLL1ailDy1MkPQ7ZBVqX514a33NHdGJTM6ZE5om9VZ7V5M7H8bN4LLF4TBViSTvtMqwRCPRYao1i_xWJ8OVKC_fU1Zfs3hpNnIMhxvLXO09eGYIytNTkLok/s320/BAEA-Feb27%20copy.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br /> <p></p>Kate Davishttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11225593017412181222noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4706115897223424739.post-50848609340399271472024-02-26T17:57:00.005-07:002024-02-26T18:40:19.976-07:00New Etching! <p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Our Long-eared Owl, Degas, an image I have had in my head for years. Working on a drypoint etching and everything all in one spot here in the house instead of running up the stairs to the "old" studio. The new one and a Bald Eagle. The pair of eagles were perched over the nest today at the beach and I shouted, "Hey! I am doing an etching of you!" And I swear, she pulled her wings out to strike a regal pose. Like, "How's this?"</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiLqlZ45w5yM14r_xvysp7FrMug7rKjc97YgYCoEHNZaG1mwl0fgXPxom41eXzz39hGngYQ6VH06dovY7pwGSk7dc9d3MX1M7vEnwKla1KkaF1F2-LQX_7zRg31ZyYTyVxyNffu8gLSt1DI1PzfSVcZbd6h5llH7R30CqkstcdP2JhrkorxXni-0VAvx5E/s800/FirstBAEAprint.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="655" data-original-width="800" height="262" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiLqlZ45w5yM14r_xvysp7FrMug7rKjc97YgYCoEHNZaG1mwl0fgXPxom41eXzz39hGngYQ6VH06dovY7pwGSk7dc9d3MX1M7vEnwKla1KkaF1F2-LQX_7zRg31ZyYTyVxyNffu8gLSt1DI1PzfSVcZbd6h5llH7R30CqkstcdP2JhrkorxXni-0VAvx5E/s320/FirstBAEAprint.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br /><p></p>Kate Davishttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11225593017412181222noreply@blogger.com0
